It's really tough to decide between two. They have their own strengths. Pick the one that suits your requirement. Let's try to compare them in terms of mileage, service, value for money and resale value?

Mileage:
on good highways Fiesta TDCi is 18 kpl & The City with the IDSi petrol engine is 16 kpl.
Inside towns, the Fiesta diesel returns around 14 kpl, while the City drops to the 11-12 kpl mark.

SERVICE:
Spares of CITY are around 30% cheaper than Fiesta.

Value for Money:
Honda is surely not Value for Money, but it is an outstanding car for urban use.

Highway driving: Fiesta is the best

Rear seat comfort & AC:
City for seating's but A/C is nowhere as good as Fiesta

Resale value: CITY ZX is better.

If your driving a lot then go with Ford Fiesta, it has a really sweet engine and very decent AC. Fiesta TDI it is really smooth and has wonderful performance which is quite comparable with some of the petrol cars as well.

People are turning towards economical cars these days, and in the Fiesta TDCi Exi, Ford has a very strong case. In 2007, 2nd quarter, Honda sold more than 10,000 Citys despite heavy competition. In comparison, Ford managed to do close to 5,000 units.
