Nordstrand NJ4 Jazz Bass Pickup Review (Read Description)
Let me say this first, out of all the pickups I have ever tried in my life time as a bassist and a builder, Nordstrands have the tone. Carey Nordstrand is building some of the best pickups money can buy. The tone is growly and warm. Lows are deep and thunderous and highs never seem harsh. And mids just have some of the best sound I have heard.
This is what a Jazz bass should sound like in my opinion.
I recorded this using a Line6 Toneport GX using the Ampeg amp and cab simulations, wish I was a better bassist or had better gear to truly get the proper sound to you guys.
Bass was built by myself and has a light vintage treatment to it. The combinations of Nordstrand NJ4s and Flatwounds just give it that old school tone that ive been searching for, for a long time.
All of my basses and guitars come stock with Nordstrands I stand behind them 100% as the best on the market. I just love there tone.
I just cant say enough about these pickups. Hope someone looking to try a set this might of helped them with there decision.
