2008 is looking like a good year for open source aficionados. Sun today announced the agenda for its second annual CommunityOne event, which will showcase a range of open source Java projects such as Netbeans, Glassfish, OpenJDK and Web 2.0 topics. Google, on the other hand has provided details for its 2008 'Summer of Code' program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source projects. read more
